Enviromental Print Use Ideas for the Classroom

Yankee Doodle: The Continuing Saga
The students get together in small groups.
They pick a sheet of paper from the envelope on the bulletin board.
On this sheet of paper is an assignment for that group to do.
Such as to write another verse to Yankee Doodle, or to write the
real story of Yankee Doodle.

After the assignments are finished the student's work is displayed. This can be done by posting the student's work or taking pictures of it and posting them.

Putting Drama into Environment Print

After the class has picked out a play, make sock puppets or papersack puppets to give the children an idea of what the costumes will look like. Then have a blown up version of the play and next to each part have a picture of who is speaking, so that the kids can start to see the play unfold.

Later as the children make the costumes or scenery, display their work around the classroom
