Authentic Assessment
1. Give students a sheet of fractions. Then have students draw a picture of a pizza (or other picture) with the appropriate fraction shaded. **Mathematics 3rd Grade 5030- Objective 4.

2. Give students a small bag of M&MÕs. Have students list the total number and how many green, red, yellow, etcÉ Then list ten different colors on the board. Have the students list the fraction of the M&MÕs. (Ex. If the color was yellow, the students would put the total number of yellow M&MÕs over the total number of M&MÕs. **Mathematics 3rd Grade 5030-Objective 4.

3. Take students outside and have them draw all of the patterns they can see. Have the students explain the pattern and why it would be considered a pattern. **Mathematics 3rd Grade 5030-Objective 2.

4. Give students a sheet of paper with a variety of different shapes on it. Then give students a piece of wax paper. Have the students trace the shape onto the wax paper. Have the students place the wax paper shape over the original shape and rotate it. Under the shape, have the students draw a picture of a slide, flip, and turn of the shape. Also have the students list how many lines of symmetry the shape has. **Mathematics 3rd Grade 5030- Objective 2.
