Manipulatives and Other Materials for Enhancing Literacy

1. Teachers could bring in the videos that have been made on novels in order for students to compare and contrast the similarities and differences in the video and the book.

2. If possible, have a real-world author come into the class and tell about their career while allowing the students to ask questions.

3. Teachers could bring in visual aides relating to the book in order to spark the studens interests. For examle, a teacher could bring in a pictture of a tree to introduce the book Bridge to Terabitha.
