Venues for Students to Share Their Work

In the classroom, have the students sit in groups. At the beginning of every reading session, have the students in their own groups discuss the book(s) they have been reading. Allow them to make recommendations to each other.

Each of the students, when they have a book that they really enjoy, should write a short summary of the book, and why they think it is worth reading. The teacher could then have a bulletin board entitled "recommended reading" and the student will be able to post their summary there for the entire class to enjoy.

Every week, you could have a reading 'show and tell' where any of the students who desire can stand in front of the class and 'show and tell' about their favorite books.
