Fluency

 

  1. In Art one way to increase fluency is by having them recognize paintings and the artist who created them.  For example:  The pictures below are all by Pablo Picasso.  You would show these along with other painting by other artist and see if they can pick out the paintings they were done by Pablo Picasso.

                             

 

2.   The second decoding strategy for art would be to have flash cards of the names of Famous artist that the children will be reading about so that when they read they will be able to recognize the names right away.  Below are some artist the 6th grade students might be reading about and need to learn.  You could put each of these names on a flash card and quiz them.  They would then become more fluent.
