Spelling Dutch Words in Anne Frank

For a Spelling Unit use the same 20 words used in decoding strategy #1 and have the students

learn how to spell them. To make this more fun than just a regular spelling test separate the students into groups and give each group a few spelling words. The group will have a few days to plan a presentation about their words. The group will be in charge of explaining what the words mean and they can use their imaginations to present them. A skit would be an excellent way to use all of the words. After the group does their presentation have everyone in the class take a little spelling test on the 5 or so words that have been presented that day.
