Print Environment:

The social studies center is a rich print environment. Students will have access to the internet, article data bases, news papers and magazines. To keep the center interesting a teacher could add books and students could do book reviews in their news paper or magazine (look at the leveled book list for ideas on titles). As students work on writing their magazine and/or newspaper they can use the computers word program and the work table will be supplied with pencils, pens, markers, highlighters, sticky notes, white out, paper clips, staplers, tape, thumbtacks and scissors.
