Magazine Stand/Rack with

Student Published Magazines and News Papers

At the end of each week, during social studies, each group will choose another groups magazine or newspaper that are located at the magazine rack in the social studies center (see center idea).  Each group will read another groups articles and discuss them.  As groups discuss ideas, they should think of points they want to present to the entire class or any questions they might have for the authors of the articles.  After groups are finished discussing articles, the teacher will randomly call on each group to share what they read to the class and what they felt about it – any question, disagreements or concerns.
