Sphinx: In Egyptian art, an image of granite or porphyry, having a human head, or the head of a ram or of a hawk, upon the wingless body of a lion.

Word Dictionaries

Students will have their own notebooks (bound index cards, etc.) to create a personalized word dictionary.

Students will choose words from their textbooks and/or classroom discussions that interest them or are unfamiliar to them.

They will record them in their notebooks and then illustrate them with any of the following: original art, on-line photos, magazine and/or newspaper pictures, or photocopies from their text or other resource manuals.
