Manipulative

1-) Toothpicks and gumdrops—Students will be give toothpicks and gumdrops so they can make a model of a DNA strand. Using different color gumdrops they can represent the different pieces of the strand.

2-)Timeline—Students will create a timeline of the history of DNA. They will tell when, who, and where DNA was discovered. They will also put on significant events that involve DNA and genetics.

3-) Earth Crust—Students will collect materials for making a model of the earths crust, including the interior.
