Real?  Try walking out to the coldframe to see the tomatoes you've grown from seed dangling like dishrags because you've forgotten to push them into the shade. Try slipping the husk from your first ear of corn to see earwigs squirming because you were too busy to dose the silks with mineral oil. Try biting into a cluster of  aphids on a fresh floret of broccoli because you didn't give the plants a hard spray of water every night to keep the bugs down.

I work with two developmentally disabled men, my bosses essentially, who each have profound mental retardation. They're loud without being able to speak. They're violent without understanding the consequences. They can't bathe themselves. They can't cook or work a job. Their behaviors range from catatonic to aggressive.
