Other publications you'll be using

In addition to using the texts listed above, you will be reading three short books (click on the underlined words to find out what your choices will be).

You'll also be reading some selections from the Scriblerian, a collection of prize-winning essays from SUU's composition students. Since the collection is on-line, you won't need to purchase it. If you write an essay you're especially proud of, you'll want to enter it in the department's annual competition!

Why so much reading?

• Can you guess? If not see the official class quotes on the bulletin board!

Aren't all these books going to get expensive?

• They might. So look in the local or SUU library first to see if you can borrow the books you need or create your own book sharing partnership with a classmate.  Even if you need to buy any of the novels from the bookstore you'll find the prices quite low because I've ordered paperback editions . Be sure to look for a used copy to keep your costs even lower.
