MacroWeb is an individual and class project from Dave Tufte's ECON
6204 (Ph.D. level Macroeconomics I) class. The project began in Summer 1999.
Rather than writing survey papers for this class, the students were asked to write a set of small linked web pages, each
dedicated to a single idea. Each participant was assigned one top journal, and asked to find one macroeconomics paper from the last few issues of that journal. They then summarized this article on one web page.
From there, they were directed to add links to other papers which they summarized, and to pages defining important
concepts.
No claim is made that the information available here is 100% accurate. These are the viewpoints of individual supervised
students. MacroWeb is somewhere between a term paper and a journal article. It isn't a private communication between
a professor and a student, nor is it peer reviewed. The closest analogy may be the "law reviews" written by supervised students in major law schools.
