The Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning proudly hosts the annual Southern Utah University Teaching Academy. This 14-week seminar “course” uses Barbara Gross Davis’ Tools for Teaching to direct faculty discussions about effective teaching methods and ways to strengthen individual pedagogy.
Fourteen faculty members a year are invited to join the Teaching Academy, under the recommendation of the Deans; the Faculty Center will provide the textbooks. The one-hour seminar sessions take place on Thursdays during the “University Hour” (from noon to 1 p.m.) in LIB 201A, and participants are encouraged to bring their own brown-bag lunches.
The dates and discussion topics for the 2013-2014 will be announced.
Those participating faculty who attend at least ten of the session will "graduate" with a certificate of completion.
