Students on stage at Feel the Thunder event.

Welcome to Flight School 2012

1st Year Students (Aug 18-21)

Note: Schedule is tentative and subject to change!

Starting college is a lot like flying on a plane; the thought of traveling to some place far away can be exciting, but the anxiety associated with what to expect or what might happen once you get there can make you nervous and anxious. Thunderbird Flight School builds on what is learned at Orientation to help ensure you are ready to succeed when classes start August 27. It is designed to help minimize your nervousness and anxiety and make certain you understand the expectations associated with your academic experience.

The schedule provides both educational and social opportunities for all participants. The schedule is a work in progress, although the three prestigious and helpful speakers, denoted with an icon (Required icon), are confirmed and your attendance is required. If you have questions about Thunderbird Flight School, you should direct them to the Orientation Office at (435) 586-1932 or orientation@suu.edu.

Transfer Students (Aug 23-24)

Note: Schedule is tentative and subject to change!

Transfer Students are defined as students who have already graduated from high school and have earned more than 24 college credits.

Take part in the SUU Tradition. To help you better connect and transition to campus life, you are required to attend Thunderbird Flight School for transfer students. This program, which includes campus tradition, food, renowned speakers, and workshops, is designed to introduce you to student life at SUU.

If you have questions about any of the Transfer Flight School events, please contact Scott Brueck at (435) 865-8015 or scottbrueck@suu.edu.
