During the course of instruction and at the end of each semester the instructors will evaluate each student. The final grade assignment is a direct reflection on how well each student has met the objectives of the class.
All class objectives as they relate to the nine NCATE/NASPE standards are indicated on the accompanying grid. Each class will use a variety of assessment instruments to evaluate the successful accomplishment of each objective. The department Program Improvement Plan (PIP) and course syllabi are the official documents of department objectives and standards.
Use of Assessment Results:
1a) A minimum standard has been set at a mark of "C-." Any student earning a grade below the minimum standard must repeat the class. The department will compute and file statistics on number of students that fail to pass the minimum standard of "C-."
