1A. Psychology majors and minors will pass each of the psychology courses which they count toward the major or minor with a minimum grade of C, as assessed within course methods.

What were the results?
This requirement improves the overall achievement of each one of our students. It is no longer possible for students to complete a major with obvious weakness in some basic area of our discipline.
How will the results be used to improve the curriculum and/or pedagogy of the program?1B. Comprehensive pre and post assessment tests will be administered to psychology majors.

What were the results?
We have not, as yet, developed our comprehensive test. We are planning on implementing this over the next two years.
How will the results be used to improve the curriculum and/or pedagogy of the program?
We will be able to identify areas of weakness in our curriculum.2A. Graduating psychology majors will have satisfactorily completed Statistics and at least two research methods courses.

This requirement strengthens the foundation of our students in the
scientific methods of conducting research and analyzing the data.
Also, it strengthens their ability to read and study research reports.
How will the results be used to improve the curriculum and/or pedagogy of the program?2B. Graduating psychology majors will have written at least one acceptable APA style paper.

This requirement strengthens our students' ability to participate in scientific psychology.
How will the results be used to improve the curriculum and/or pedagogy of the program?3. All students in Psychology 2010 - Models, Methods, and Professional Issues - will pass an ethics code exam in order to continue as a psychology major and graduate.

This requirement addresses the important issue of ethical conduct in our profession.
How will the results be used to improve the curriculum and/or pedagogy of the program?Once you submit your report, it will be electronically mailed to the Associate Provost's Office.
It will also appear in a new web documents that will be posted to the University's web site.
You should print this page as your hard copy.The Associate Provost will compile assessment reports for the Provost and for the University's assessment program.
Should the department wish to make any changes in the report for 2000-2001, feel free to write on a paper copy and forward any changes to the Associate Provost's Office by September 10, 2001.
