Institutional Research & Assessment

Overall Satisfaction

Respondents used a 4-point scale (1 = poor, 2 = fair, 3 = good, & 4 = excellent) to rate their overall satisfaction with their entire educational experience at the institution. On average, SUU students rated their experiences as good (M=3.27), but seniors rated the experience higher than freshmen. Students also answered the question, "If you could start over again, would you go to the same institution you are now attending?" Using a 4-point scale (1 = definitely no, 2 = probably no, 3 = probably yes, & 4 = definitely yes), SUU students responded that they would probably attend SUU again (M = 3.31), again senior students scoring the item higher. Figure 1 summarizes first-year student responses at SUU, master’s peer institutions and at all NSSE institutions.
