Everglades National Park is the largest subtropical wilderness in the U.S. but the boundaries of the park protect only the southern one-fifth of the historic Everglades ecosystem. This important watershed boasts a multitude of habitats that provide a refuge to a unique assemblage of wildlife including a host of threatened and endangered plants and animals.
