| Partners in the Parks is an outdoor experiential learning program sponsored by Southern Utah University and the National Park Service in cooperation with the National Collegiate Honors Council. The program was begun under a 2008 Centennial Initiative Program under the direction of Cedar Breaks National Monument as the sponsoring park unit. In five years since we began, we have hosted an average of seven projects per year at national parks across the country offering unique opportunities for collegiate honors students and faculty to visit areas of the American landscape noted for their beauty, significance and lasting value. | |
| During the projects, seminars are led by university faculty and park personnel include historical, scientific, cultural, and other important areas unique to a given park. Each project has also taken advantage of exciting recreational opportunities in the parks to broaden participants' understanding of the overall value of national parks to our country and its citizens. | |
