Fishing

Nothing in the world is quite like fishing.

I load up the gear and head straight for the lake.

The goal for the day, to have fun.

Not a care in the world will bother me today, for I am fishing.

First, I throw out the hook.

Zing, says the line coming from the reel until the hook hits the water.

Then, nothing, until

Dzzzzzz, the reel goes crazy as I feel my rod bending towards the earth.

There is a great feeling of excitement once I start to reel in my trophy.

The monster jumps from the lake and I can see its beauty.

A magnificent creature has been hooked and is fighting for its own life.

It almost makes me feel bad, Almost!

Finally I pull out my slimy, slippery, scaly captor.

The stench of stinky fish is now all over me.

As I stand there looking at that innocent thing, I make up my mind to let it go.

With the help of pliers, I set the fish free, hoping to catch another, because after all,

Nothing in the world is quite like fishing.
