Breaking Through

Like a constant crashing of the waves on white sands,
So my thoughts crash and tumble in my head.
I’m lost in a world of endless demands,
My worries weigh me down like a weak sack of lead.
I can see forever, but what I see is bleak,
Like a sailor lost at sea, I am in utter dismay.
I’m living in an unjust world, never allowed to speak,
So many things go unspoken, so many things I want to say.

Where morals are lost in the tide,
Where standards are set low, like a snake slithering on the ground,
This is the place where I reside.
To this cold, dark, dreary place I am bound.
This is where good Samaritans are slain,
These people’s souls are a deep, shadowy abyss.

No one senses my silent cries of pain,
Everyone is concerned with their own bliss.
Is there an escape from this intemperate world?
Even on this unruly earth you have time to stop and think,
In the walls of my head my thoughts are hurled.
I’m fed up with all the evil, right to the brink.

But suddenly a shimmer of light, a glimpse of hope,
There is a savior here to save us all.
With this gray, corrupt world you don’t have to cope.
He will always pick you up when you fall,
So don’t live your life in a cage,
Have some adventure; your life doesn’t have to be dull.
You can always start off with a blank page,
So do yourself a favor and don’t hold back, always live your life to the full.
