Services Available: for Students

How can we help you?

Since you set the agenda for your Writing Center appointment, that's a question you can answer for yourself!  You might consider the following list, however, as you decide to set your priorities. We might help you:

Figure out the assignment

Develop and organize your ideas before you start your paper

Understand the needs and expectations of your audience

Test and assert your ideas with the help of  research

Create a strong introduction and conclusion

Write an effective thesis statement

Plan a logical organizational structure

Develop your ideas and arguments and make them clear

Consider multiple perspectives

Cite sources

Edit for common grammar problems

Develop a strong and interesting academic voice

What we cannot do!

We can't write your paper for you. In fact we respect your ideas so much that we try to keep our hands off your paper. Instead we try to respond to your questions and concerns and to offer our expert opinion when you want it.

We can't give you a lot of help if you wait until the last minute to come to see us. To get the maximum benefit of our services, try to schedule your appointment several days in advance of your deadline.

Because we have so many clients, we can't offer you unlimited help. We ask you to limit your appointments to three per week. During peak times (midterm and finals), we may have to restrict appointment to one per week.
