In honor of President Benson’s passion for President Truman, the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society and the Department of Political Science & Criminal Justice will host a presidential candidate debate between Harry S. Truman and Thomas Dewey. As the first ever debate between presidential candidates, the 1948 Truman-Dewey debate set the stage for a new forum of political discourse. Join Professor Earl Mulderink as he moderates the real story about the candidates' debate and the newspapers' untimely conclusion. And of course, don’t be surprised if the audience is asked to correct a few minor slips along the way.
