iPrint

iPrint is a new technology being offered to students at Southern Utah University. Students that use their personal computers to connect to the campus network can now print to a number of computer lab printers around campus. Using a web browser, students are presented with a campus map showing approximate locations of the printers. Moving the mouse cursor over a printer icon displays a description of the printer. When a student clicks on the printer icon, the printer's driver is downloaded, and a printer is created in the student's Printer folder, enabling the student to send documents to the printer from any application on the desktop.

In order to use iPrint, a small desktop client must first be downloaded. (Important note: The iPrint service is only available on-campus.)

To install the client, complete the following steps:
  1. Download the appropriate client here:
  2. Proceed through the installation taking the default choices. On older operating systems, a reboot will be required.
  3. When the client installation is complete, close your Internet browser. (This step is important--failing to do so will prevent the printer from installing.)
  4. Re-start your Internet browser and return to this page.

After the iPrint client is installed, proceed to the map. When you first click on a printer to install it, you will need to login with your student username and password. This is the same username and password used when logging into lab computers.

System Requirements

In order to use iPrint, your computer must meet the following minimum system requirements:

Windows:

Macintosh:

Account Balance

When printing via iPrint, pages you print will be deducted from your account balance, the same as in a computer lab. If you submit a print job and it never comes out of the printer, you are most likely out of print pages. You can check your balance here.
