New Web Site Questions

If you are requesting development of a new site, please take the time to answer the following questions before contacting Web Services. This will help both parties be more efficient during the process. If you already have a site and wish to redesign, please complete the redesign questionnaire.

General Information

  1. What is the name of your department?
  2. Who is the web liaison for your department? (List name, title, e-mail and phone)

Reasons for Site Creation

  1. What are the main reasons you wish to develop a site now?
  2. What are your primary online objectives with a web site?  Please outline both short and long-term goals.

Audience

  1. Describe the type of person you anticipate being a typical visitor to your site.
  2. What is the primary action the visitors to your site should take?

Image and Feel

  1. Use a few adjectives to describe how your site visitor should perceive the new site.  (friendly, fun, classy, clean, etc.)
  2. Do you have specific colors that you would like to include or avoid in your site?
  3. Please list the URL’s for at least 3 sites you find visually compelling.  Please be specific in outlining what attracts you to them and the specific elements you find particularly appealing.

Content

  1. Have you outlined the content you wish to provide on your site?
  2. Have you written the content you wish to provide on your site?
  3. How often do you envision content changes happening?
  4. Have you outlined a plan for content maintenance (frequency of checks and who will be responsible, update method to be used in concordance to liaison program)?

  1. Please provide any other information or details you feel would be beneficial.
