Lauren Shafer

Lauren Shafer is a sophomore at SUU, and is originally from Utah.  She has spent the majority of her life overseas and around the US.  She’s lived in various places, but the coolest are Germany, Madagascar, and Singapore, where she graduated.  Lauren is a Political Science major and a Legal Studies minor.  Her goal is to eventually go to Law School after she finishes her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at SUU.   Ultimately Lauren wants to work for the US State Department or any organization within the Foreign Service.

Lauren has completed several internships with the State Department, and has grown up with two Foreign Service Officer parents, thus why she’s moved around the world.  She recently just completed an internship working with the Consular office in the Bern, Switzerland US Embassy.  She is always eager to share her knowledge about the State Department with others.  Lauren is an avid traveller and has many stories to tell about the world.  Lauren is also an English junkie and reads and writes as much as she can, and is SUU’s 1st place 1010 Scriblerian winner.

Lauren always want to be involved, which is why she’s so excited about working with the Leavitt Center and having the opportunity to meet new people.
