"Do you consider the Daily Show a news source?"

"Yes! The information is presented either a) accurately or b) satirically and the cases are easily distinguished. It’s such by providing quality information with rational, cleaver analysis, the writers are presenting something valuable. The problem is that it cannot present all information — a limitation common to everything news — so it ought not be a sole source for news. The same goes for CNN, The New York Times, Fox News, MSNBC, and any other source." -Matthew Montgomery, a senior undeclared major from Hurricane

“Yes, because for once someone says it like it is and points out the flaws in our government, not to mention it’s EXTREMELY entertaining!” -Jessica Wolf, a sophomore French major from Orleans, VT.

"I don’t have the heart to watch 'legitimate' news channels. I feel like it’s all sensationalistic. So while The Daily Show is satirical, well, there’s more honesty in that than in the major news networks.” -Hannah Wunderli, a sophomore elementary education major from Belmont, MA.

“Yes, the fact that the news is reported in a sarcastic manner doesn’t make it an illegitimate news source." -Curtis Tuttle, a junior political science major from Flowell

"I do consider it accurate news, however, it is delivered through a humorous lens that at times can hurt the credibility of these two.” -Patrick Shukart, a junior political science major from Cupertino, CA.

"Yes. They make fun of the news but they still give it to you.” -Jasmine Evans, a junior art major from Gambrills, M.D.

"What did you think of the Super Tuesday results?"

"A little disappointed, but it wasn't like Romney's really going to be elected!" - Jenette Jex, sophomore criminal justice major, West Valley City

"Pissed." - Elesa King, freshman political science major, Round Mountain, Nev.

"I loved them! I hope Obama wins!" - Cameron Shaw, freshman hotel, resort and hospitality management major, Roy

"I feel good about the results. I think the fact that the Democratic race is tight only means that we have two really good candidates." - Samantha Huntsman, junior chemistry major, Cedar City

"I was excited that so many Americans turned out to vote. I hear political conversations all over and I think some of those (that) may be disillusioned by the political process are actively participating by making their voice heard. I think Super Tuesday was a win for the American people more so than it was for the candidates." - Stewart Wilkey, junior biology major, St. George

"I'm a little sad Romney dropped out, but for Democrats, I like Obama better." - Jessica Higgs, junior chemistry major, Cedar City

"If the presidential election were today ... "

The Student Action Committee partnered up with the University Journal for an election-related Talk Back.
