Jon McNaughtan is from Heber City Utah where he grew up on a ranch raising beef cattle. He is the youngest of seven children, six of which are boys. He went to Wasatch High School where he participated in various sports and extra curricular activities. Upon graduation Jon moved to Cedar City to attend SUU majoring in Communication. He served a two year mission for his church in Micronesia Guam. Jon started back at SUU in 2006 and graduated from SUU in 2009 with a bachelors of science in Communication. Emphasizing in interpersonal communication. While at SUU he got involved in multiple student groups ranging from the Resident Housing Association to Presidential Ambassadors. He fell in love with public service and higher education while serving as Student Association President his senior year. After SUU he completed a Masters of Education focusing on Policy, Organizations, and Leadership at Stanford University. He served as the Associate Director under Dr. Steven Bennion from June 2010 until November 2011 at which point he was appointed the Interim Director of the Center.  He is married to the love of his life Elisabeth and they had their first child, Luke, in February.
