Kiwanis Present Check to SUU for Student Scholarships

Gale Waite, president of the Cedar City Kiwanis Club, presented Steve Bennion, president of Southern Utah University, with a check for $4,000.00 last Thursday.
The donation is a follow through on a promise the Kiwanis made to the University by coordinating a special basketball program in the Centrum.
On the Saturday before, the Kiwanis and SUU brought the Utah Showcase and the Harlem Entertainers basketball teams together for a great night of sports action and entertainment. A crowd of about 2,000 enjoyed a fun-filled display of spectacular basketball.
The icing on the cake was that proceeds went toward scholarships for SUU students--$4,000 worth!
With one of his famous and enthusiastic High Five’s, President Bennion exclaimed to Waite, “Thank you for your great work, friend!”
