Ceramic Artist at Art Insights

The SUU Department of Art and Design will feature Jason Hess, a ceramicist, in this weeks Art Insights presentation. Hess will present, "Wood Fired Vessels," Thursday, March 22nd at 7 p.m. in the J.L. Sorenson Physical Education Building, room 101.

Hess will present a discussion based on his work process and philosophy of art. He earned his MFA in Ceramics from Utah State University in 1996. In 2006 he became an Associate Professor of Art at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Hess is the recipient of numerous grants and awards and his work has appeared in many publications as well as in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally.

Art Insights is a weekly program hosted during the Fall and Spring semesters by the Art and Design faculty. Art Insights brings professionals from many different fields of the visual art world to Cedar City. Admission is free, and the general public is invited to attend.
