SUU Student Honored by NEWH

The Network of Executive Women in Hospitality recognized Emily Cook, a hotel, resort and hospitality management major at Southern Utah University, by awarding her a scholarship.

Cook is the first and only person to receive the annual award in the state of Utah. She was selected by the chapter from within her region, covering both Utah and Nevada, and will travel to Las Vegas to attend their banquet and accept the award.

Her scholarship is good for the 2007-2008 academic year and can be used on book, supplies or tuition.

NEWH is an international organization extending around the world, with 18 chapters and five affiliated areas. Founded in 1984 it brings together professionals from all facets of the hospitality industry to provide educational, professional and networking opportunities for women. Thus far, NEWH has awarded over 1.4 million dollars in scholarship monies.
