This Wednesday, November 2, Southern Utah University will welcome former head coach of the Utah Jazz Frank Layden, as keynote speaker for the 2011 Leadership Luncheon.

A Utah icon for three decades, Layden retired as head coach of the Jazz in 1989 and has since served as the team’s president and general manager. Layden has been named NBA Coach of the Year and is known for his colorful personality and wit. Guests of the luncheon will surely be entertained and inspired by Layden, a truly unique figure in Utah’s sports history.

The luncheon, hosted by SUU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences, will take place in the Gilbert Great Hall of the Haze Hunter Conference Center, beginning at 11:15 a.m. Tickets may be purchased for $25 per plate or $180 for a table of eight.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support the Everyday Leadership Scholarship, a charitable fund that helps SUU students in their pursuit of becoming our next generation of leaders.
