TouchMD President to Share Story of Risks and SuccessWhat is success and how is it achieved? On Thursday, November 19th, Jason Whitesides, President of TouchMD, will be presenting in the State Bank of Southern Utah Business Executive Speaker Series on “A Risk Taker: The formula for success”. He will present in the Starlight Room of the Sharwan Smith Student Center on the Southern Utah University campus at 11:30 AM. In his presentation, Mr. Whitesides will share the story of a start up to a sell, the risk and sacrifice needed to make it happen, and lessons learned along the way about calculated risk and reward.

Mr. Jason Whitesides was born in Tucson, Arizona. After moving around the country with his family he completed high school in the Washington D.C. area. It was here that he wanted to have a future in politics.

He graduated from Southern Utah University (SUU) in 1997 with a degree in Political Science. Jason had a desire to go to law school after graduation to work as a lobbyist. While at SUU he had the opportunity to intern and work at the State of Utah House of Representatives as well as the United States House of Representatives for Congressman Jim Hansen.

Upon completion of his degree he chose a different path than law school and began working at Power Cable Television Ad Sales in Cedar City, Utah. While in this position he discovered his interest in business and entrepreneurship.

In 1999, Jason formed Fusion Media, an interactive company specializing in marketing for luxury real estate developers. He is the managing partner.

It was in 2009 that Jason and his business partners created TouchMD, a state-of-the-art medical software company for doctors. After growing the company at staggering rates the company was sold in 2014 to Alphaeon Corporation, a lifestyle healthcare company based in Newport Beach, California. He continues to act as President of TouchMD. 

Over the years he has had the opportunity to sit on boards, such as the Happy Factory located in Cedar City, Utah. He has multiple business interests that he is currently involved in. He resides in St. George, Utah with his wife Kristen and their five children. He enjoys spending time with his family, coaching, and playing with his kids.
