The Associated Geology Students of Southern
Utah University (AGS-SUU) are a very active student governed
organization that has been in existence for over 30 years. The
Geology Club has a variety of functions and performs many campus and
community services. Membership is open to all students and community
members and the Geology Club attracts members from both the campus
and community.
The Geology Club has a member affiliation with
the National Earth Science Honorary Society, Sigma
Gamma Epsilon (SGE). The Eta Epsilon Chapter
of SGE was formed in 2000. We continue to intitiate new students
(2003 Pledge Class) into SGE and to help
them enjoy the benefits of this association. The Eta Epsilon Chapter
awards the W.A. Tarr Award annually for
outstanding service to SUU, SGE, and our constituencies. Southern
Utah University and the Eta Epsilon Chapter of SGE have been selected
to host the 38th Biennial Convention of SGE,
October 11-13, 2002.
