SUU Geology Death Valley Field Trip

February, 2002

Here is the group the morning we packed up to leave Death Valley. We had quite an adventure.

The night we arrived, it was fajitas for supper. DeRay Jensen is enjoying what's in the "Dutch". This is truly the calm before the storm.

Rosaleen Conrad the morning after the big blow. We suffered 45 mph winds that sandblasted everything and everyone. We only lost one tent to the wind, and this was the one.

We hiked up to Darwin Falls west of Panamint Valley and found this lovely desert oasis.

We drove to Dante's View, in the Black Mountains, and of course it was windy and cold. Jordan, Teresa, and Traci and just trying to stay warm and enjoy the view.

Another view from Dante's, looking north. They are cold in this photo, too.

These guys have found a unique way to stay warm! That is DeRay, Garrett, and Tod.
