Robber's Roost, Utah

The van is parked outside
of Gaye Marie Ekker's family ranch, located just a few miles east
of the famed hangout of the Butch Cassidy Gang, and very near
some really great geology!
One of the advantages
of being to work out of the ranch house is apparent in this photo.
It sure was nice to sit down at meal time and get out of the weather.
Thanks Gaye Marie for your hospitaltity! By the way, the bowl
of watermelon, in the middle of the table, is Green River melon!
(Personnel: Jim is fixing himself a salad while Trisha assists,
Chel is thinking hard about what to eat next, Jared is prearing
to dive in, Kevin and Aaron are waiting their turn, Mark is getting
serious, and both Maryanne and Tsuko are trying to stay out of
the way, finally Rosaleen waits her turn for some salad. All had
a really great time.)

Canyon, as it heads west, connecting with the Dirty Devil River.
This is the route the the Cassidy Gang took when returning to
the Roost ot hole-up. And yes, those are the Henry Mountains in
the background.
