Letter to Prospective PVA Students

Dear Prospective Student,

Welcome to the Southern Utah University College of Performing and Visual Arts (CPVA). Our College includes the departments of Art & Design, Music and Theater Arts & Dance.

For the majors and minors available in the CPVA departments, click on: Art & Design, Music or Theatre Arts & Dance.

Art & Design and Music offer composite baccalaureate programs. A composite major does not require a minor, but requires additional hours in the major field. Majors in Theatre Arts and Dance do require minors.

In addition, the CPVA offers a graduate program: the MFA degree in Arts Administration. For more information on that program, check out http://www.suu.edu/pva/mfa/

To apply for a departmental scholarship, you must be a declared major in that department. For information about departmental scholarships see the catalog at http://www.suu.edu/academics/catalog/

Students usually spend their first two years taking general education and as well as courses to prepare them for their area of study

If you are interested in any of the PVA majors, please make an appointment with me so that we may discuss your academic options and assure proper enrollment in the major courses. If you have questions concerning the general education requirements, please let me know, or check out our website: http://www.suu.edu/academics/ge/

Sincerely,

Dan Frezza, Academic Advisor
