THE 6-INCH ART SHOW
May 12-22, 2012

This artwork was created by local K-12 students and inspired by our Fall 2012 exhibition "Soviet Era Art." The art showcased the students' perceptions of their own lives here in America in contrast to life in Soviet Russia. The artwork was a colorful insight into a Cedar City child's mind.

SOUTHERN UTAH ART INVITATIONAL AND SALE
June 20-August 25, 2012

Our highly-anticipated annual invitational returns this year with contributions from favorite local artists. Artwork on display will be for sale to the public. A wide range of media will be represented, including oils, watercolors, glassworks, jewelry, and ceramics.

THE PSYCHEDELIC YEARS: ROCK POSTERS FROM THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, 1966-1971

The 60's and 70's come alive in this premier exhibit from our permanent collection. These posters showcase the talented work of graphic designers who pioneered in this style of psychedelic artwork.

SUU'S ART AND DESIGN CURRICULUM EXHIBITION
September 6-22, 2012

This exhibition will showcase student art created in classes taught in the past year. A wide range of media will be represented, including oils, watercolors, ceramics, print making, and photography.

EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN: ART QUILTS, FABRIC COLLAGE & EMBROIDERY

Initiating a biennial celebration of contemporary fabric fine art, the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery presented "Everything in Between: Art Quilts, Fabric Collage & Embroidery." This premier exhibition featured 48 invited international artists from six countries and 21 states. This collection spanned traditional, realistic, abstract, non-objective, and conceptual manipulation and embellishment of fibers and fabric. This exhibition was made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Braithwaite Gallery.

PANELS FROM THE AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT

October 8-20, 2012

Created to commemorate the lives lost to AIDS over the last decades, The AIDS Memorial Quilt serves as a political and social statement about the impact of this plague. As part of SUU’s Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery fall exhibition, Everything In Between: Art Quilts, Fabric Collage, and Embroidery, Panels from The AIDS Memorial Quilt were displayed from October 8-20, 2012, in SUU’s Hunter Conference Center on the second floor.

SENIOR BFA PORTFOLIO SHOW

November 15-December 15, 2012

Spotlighting creativity and imagination, this exhibit presented the culmination of work by the Senior BFA candidates graduating in December. The exhibit featured a wide variety of mediums from ceramics to charcoal to digital photography and graphic design.
