Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery

2009 High School Fine Art Competition

Our annual High School Fine Art Competition is evolving and expanding and we invite students, grades 9-12, to participate.  The Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery has formed a partnership with the Utah Shakespearean Festival and our annual High School Fine Art exhibit is now scheduled to coincide with the energy and enthusiasm brought by more than 2,500 students to these events.

The 2009 exhibit will open in the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery on September 10, 2009 to be enjoyed by thousands of fall theatre patrons, university students, visitors to SUU’s campus and high school students participating in these competitions through October 10, 2009.

No entry fee required.  To conserve paper/resources please enter by e-mailing artist’s name, mailing address, title of work, medium, price and/or value for insurance purposes, school name, instructor’s name and an attached digital image of the work to:  summersr@suu.edu .  (Only one entry per e-mail please.)  We will send a return e-mail verifying receipt of entry.

Entries for this competition will be accepted between March 1 and April 21, 2009.  Adjudication will take place on April 28th and results announced by e-mail and posted on our website by April 30, 2009.  Your graduating seniors are encouraged to apply.

Artwork accepted into the show will be eligible for cash awards, special recognition and potential scholarships.  These awards will be presented at the evening awards ceremony for both the Shakespeare and Fine Arts Competitions on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 7:00 pm.

If you have any further questions or concerns please contact the gallery at 435-586-5432 or e-mail to summersr@suu.edu
