About our Program
The keyboard area provides a musically and academically stimulating environment for our students. Emphasis is placed on individual attention and the curriculum is tailored to each student's individual goals and needs.
Our students enjoy a wealth of educational opportunities. The piano area offers courses in piano pedagogy, piano literature, collaborative arts and accompanying. There are many opportunities to perform within the community as well as at the university.
Faculty
The piano and organ faculty at Southern Utah University is comprised of highly trained teachers and performers. Refer to the faculty and staff link to the left for more detailed information.
Facilities
Southern Utah University is an All Steinway school. Practice rooms are equipped with new Steinway and Boston grand pianos and uprights. Thorley Music Recital Hall is a 212 seat chamber auditorium located in the music building and features two Steinway concert grand pianos.

Student Organizations
Our students enjoy many opportunities to participate and socialize in student organizations within the Department of Music. The most prominent student organization for piano majors is our MTNA student chapter, Rhapsody in Red.
