Accomplishments from the 2011 - 2012

- The SUU Percussion Ensemble won a “call for tapes” for the 2012 Utah Music Educators Conference and was the featured performer at this convention.
- The SUU Percussionists did a 2 day Outreach event for ArtsFusion, visitin Panguitch Tropic and Escalante to teach drumming to elemntry school children.
- SUU hosted another successful Percussion Festival with clinics, concerts and guest artists The Ironworks Duo.
- Taylor Armstrong won the Orchestra of Southern Utah Roy L Halverson Young Artist Competition and was a featured soloist in the 2012 season.
- Lydia Bradshaw won a position as a semi-finalist in the 2012 Southern California International Marimba Competition.
- Lydia Bradshaw was awarded a scholarship from Percussive Arts Society for travel and entry to the 2012 International Percussion Convention.
- Marissa Brown, Darin Hunsinger and Taylor Armstrong competed in the 2012 Utah Day of Percussion and received many positive comments from the judges, and Taylor won the solo Marimba Category!
- The SUU Drumline travelled to an away football game for the first time last year to Weber to support our football team.
- The Percussion students attended the 2011 Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis.
- Lydia Bradshaw was given a scholarship to participate in the Canyon Arts Festival in Utah in June 2012
- Darin Hunsinger attended the MIke Johnston Drum in California in July.
