An Evening of Music inspired by the art of Frederic Remington on exhibit at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery

(Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah) The SUU Department of Music will present a Faculty Recital, Western Soundscapes, as part of the Masterworks Series on Monday, October 15th at 7:30 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall on the SUU campus.
The SUU Music Faculty offers a musical evening inspired by the American West and the art of Frederic Remington. From the classic Americana of George Gershwin to the rustic, avant garde of Charles Ives, from the beautiful simplicity of Frackenpoh’s American Folk Songs to Puccini’s homage to the American West, the SUU Music Department presents a thoughtful, inspiring and thrilling peek at our American West.
Dr. Keith M. Bradshaw, SUU Music Department’s Chair, will offer the world premier of his western-styled “The Ballad of Hazel and Brown.” Cowboy songs, a musical shoot out and an exciting surprise guest complete the tribute. Enjoy a musical evening of wistful cowboys and shoot ‘em up westerns as we honor the art of Frederic Remington and the glory of our Western past.
Tickets are $8 for general admission, $6 for SUU Faculty and Staff, $4 for Students, And, free for SUU students with a valid I.D.
