How To Succeed Offers Advice to Corporate World

(Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah) The Southern Utah University Department of Theatre Arts and Dance will present Frank Loesser and Abe Burrows’ Tony Award winning Musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Directed by Matt Neves, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying follows lowly window washer J. Pierrepont Finch and his ascent up the corporate ladder.
This production will feature Dick Nourse as The Voice, guiding Finch through the ins and outs of the corporate world. KSL Television anchorman Dick Nourse is Mountain America's most watched news anchor, and has been a voice in the community for over 40 years.
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 1962, in addition to 6 other Tony Awards. In the same year it also won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This musical comedy that tells the story of just another day in the office, and all the power, greed, nepotism, and ambition it entails. J. Pierrepont Finch makes a quick trip up the corporate ladder with a little help from a hand book with all the answers. Will Finch outsmart the competition and become Chairman of the Board, or will he end up a window washer, once again?
Sponsored by SUU’s College of Performing and Visual Arts and the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying will run November 8-10 and 15-17 in the Auditorium Theatre. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for General Admission, $8 for SUU Faculty and Staff, $5 for students/children, and SUU Students attend free with a valid Student ID.
