Artwork from Talented High School Students on Display

(Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah) The Southern Utah University Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery is proud to present The High School Fine Art Competition Exhibit from November 29-December 15, 2007 & January 7-19, 2008.
The Exhibit features the promising work of the next generation of artists. Featuring work by selected entrants from Utah high schools, this exhibit offers younger artists an opportunity to display their artwork and receive awards and critiques from the faculty of the SUU Department of Art and Design.
“Our annual Fine Art Competition offers high school age students, 15-18 years old in grades 9-12, the opportunity to submit their work in drawing, painting, ceramics and graphic design,” says Reece Summers, Gallery Director. “This exhibit offers young artists an opportunity to present their artwork for adjudication, feedback, and awards.”
There will be an opening reception and awards ceremony at the gallery on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The reception is open to the public and admission is free.
The Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, Noon to 7:00 p.m., and is located on the ground floor of the Braithwaite Liberal Arts Center building on the east end of the beautiful SUU campus.
