Swing the Night Away with the SUU Ballroom Dance Company

(Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah) The Southern Utah University Ballroom Dance Company will amaze you as they perform their award-winning showcase Swing, Swing, Swing! April 12th at the SUU Centrum Arena. Audiences will be treated to a tribute of swing dances throughout the century ranging from the Charleston of the roaring twenties, to the rocking jitterbugs of the 50’s, all the way to the exciting Lindy Hops of today. In addition, the SUU Ballroom Dance Company will perform other tradition ballroom dances such as the rhythmical cha cha from Cuba, the elegant American foxtrot, the intense Spanish paso doble and many more.
This energetic group will keep you tapping your feet as you are entertained by wonderful music, beautiful costumes, and amazing formation ballroom dancing. The SUU Ballroom Dance Company has toured throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, and Latin America receiving numerous accolades for their performances. Directed by United States and European Ballroom Dance Champion, Mark Baker, the Southern Utah University Ballroom Dance Company entertains like none other.

The Ballroom Dance Company is one of the premier performing groups on Southern Utah University’s campus and maintains a touring program that typically reaches more than 75 cities throughout various countries annually. Sponsored by SUU’s College of Performing and Visual Arts, Swing, Swing, Swing! will perform to the general public April 12th at the SUU Centrum Arena. There will be two performances including a matinee at 2:00 p.m. and an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for general admission, $6 for SUU students and $30 for a family matinee pass (up to 5 family members, matinee only).
