SUU Music Department Presents Anna Gliadkovskaya Faculty Piano Recital

(Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah)  The SUU Music Department presents Anna Gliadkovskaya in her Faculty Piano Recital Monday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall on the SUU campus. Admission is free and the recital is open to the public.

Mrs. Gliadkovskaya's brilliant and refined virtuosity will be presented through selected piano pieces from some of the most famous and treasured composers including Rameau, Chopin, Schubert, and Rachmaninov.

Mrs. Gliadkovskaya will perform two pieces by Jean Philippe Rameau, one of the most important French composers and music theorists of the Baroque era, Gavotte and Variations, and Le Rappel des Oiseaus as well as Schubert's hauntingly harmonic and melodic, Impromptu in E Flat Major and Musical Moment in A Flat Major. Chopin's infamous Polonaise - Fantaisie and Rachmaninov's Melody, Serenade, and Joy of Love will complete this passionate, romantic, and meditative evening of musical genius.

Mrs. Gliadkovskaya joined SUU Music Department in August 2007, with her husband Kirill Gliadkovsky, head of the piano department. Born in Samara, Russia, she has studied music since the age of 5. She has performed across Russia, Germany, the Chech Republic, Canada, and the United States. Mrs. Gliadkovskaya earned her Master Degree and Postgraduate Diploma from Gnessins Russian Music Academy and has been featured on numerous TV and radio broadcasts. She recently recorded a CD for Alexei Records.
