Michael Morris Presents at Art INsights

(Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah) The SUU Department of Art and Design will feature Michael Morris from Chronicle Books in this week’s Art Insights, Thursday, April 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the J.L. Sorenson P.E. Building, Room 101. Morris will present "Open Book: Storytelling and Graphic Design", focused on the critical role design plays in successful storytelling.
Michael Morris graduated from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco. He has worked for WIRED Magazine, Adobe, and many small studios in San Francisco, including Volume and Mende Design. His work has been featured in Print, CMYK, and he won an Adobe Design award in 2004.
Chronicle Books began operations in 1968 as a division of the San Francisco Chronicle Newspaper. Chronicle Books has evolved from publishing compilations of newspaper columns, to publishing the first Sushi cookbook, best-selling books that cover everything from pop culture, music icons, design monographs, and even books about kittens.
Art Insights is a weekly program hosted during the Fall and Spring semesters by the Art and Design faculty. In Art Insights students and community members meet weekly to attend gallery openings and experience presentations and discussions by visiting artists and art educators from around the nation who share their work and insights. Admission is free, and the general public is invited to attend.
