(Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah)  The SUU Department of Music offers "A Choral Tapestry" the SUU Department of Music's Fall Choral Concert, Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall on the SUU Campus.

The SUU Concert Choir and OPUS Chamber Ensemble will present “A Choral Tapestry” an eclectic and transcendent evening of choral selections drawing from several centuries and many musical styles.  Madrigals, country fiddling and a string quartet weave together a diverse and fascinating musical fabric.

The evening will open with Haydn’s "Kyrie" from the "Lord Nelson Mass" and will close with the gospel favorite, "He Never Failed Me Yet."  David Campbell, one of SUU’s student composers, will conduct his own arrangement of the haunting folk tune, "Homeward Bound." Dr. Grace St. Pierre directs both the OPUS Chamber Ensemble and the Concert Choir, with Sara Guttenberg, assistant conductor of the Concert Choir.

Tickets are $6 for general admission, $4 for SUU Faculty and Staff, $3 for Students, and Free for SUU students with a valid I.D.  For tickets please call (435)586-7878
