Teresa Higbee

Teresa Higbee is the department of nursing office manager in the College of Science at Southern Utah University (SUU). She received her associate degree in business from Dixie College, St. George, Utah. Her educational focus was secretarial with emphasis in legal documentation. She worked ten years in a variety of positions including legal secretary, office manager, loan processor, loan closer and pre-underwriter prior to her employment as department office manager at SUU.

During her 9 years employment at SUU, Teresa has acted as secretary for the Weber State University/Southern Utah University Cooperative Nursing Program. Her responsibilities have included: maintaining student records, pre-nursing advising, budgeting/billing, office manager, supervise student employees and department secretary, oversee student evaluations, maintain clinical facility agreements, maintain department web page, scheduling meetings and maintaining office calendar/functions, and faculty assistant.

Teresa was instrumental in preparing paperwork documenting the need for a stand alone nursing program at SUU. She worked closely with the nursing program coordinator to prepare necessary paperwork to gain approval for the SUU Baccalaureate Nursing Program. She will continue as the founding secretary for the new SUU Nursing Program.
